Short description: By recognizing and incentivizing forward-thinking approaches that enhance the integrity and openness of research processes, the award supports efforts that improve how knowledge is generated, shared, and evaluated across all disciplines. These foundational improvements are essential to enabling sustainable and meaningful responses to the pressing challenges of our time. Early career researchers are essential drivers of change in research culture. The Award invites them to propose innovative projects that strengthen transparency, inclusiveness, and integrity in science. Selected initiatives receive funding and international visibility, showcasing how the next generation is shaping more reliable and sustainable research practices. The award is open to researchers and institutions from any part of the world. Applicants do not need to be affiliated with a German institution or be working in partnership with Berlin- or German-based institutions or researchers. • Award Categories: o Individual Award: Individual researchers or small teams of collaborating researchers can be nominated. The laureate will be awarded €150,000. o Institutional Award: Governmental and non-governmental organizations, institutions, or other entities can apply or be nominated. The award-winning organization or institution will receive €100,000. o Early Career Award: Early career researchers or small teams of collaborating researchers can submit a project proposal that seeks to foster research quality and value for an award of €100,000. • Deadline: 30 April 2026, 10pm UTC
